Day 3 Swimming

Today we spent the day at the pool. We were able to donate some swimsuits that we had and that my visiting teacher had given me. There are a lot of people that want to swim but don't have a swimsuit. I have seen the lifeguards kick a lot of families out of the pool because they don't have a swimsuit. It makes me sad because it is so hot and people don't have much money. So, it was nice to be able to donate a big bag of swimsuits to the pool. The lifeguards thought that was a good idea.

Day 2 Farmers Market

Today we decided to go to the Farmers Market. I love fresh fruit and vegetables, and I think it is good for the kids to see something new. They actually had a great time picking out fruits and veggies. They got fresh honey sticks from a guy that makes his own honey, and fresh eggs from a lady that has her own chickens. She told us she would sell us some chickens, but we need to see if that is possible. I really want to get chickens.

Finally The Last Post

DAY 1 of our last 2 weeks of Summer Vacation. I told the kids that we are going to do something fun every day for our last two weeks. I wanted to document these last 2 weeks so that they can remember that we did do fun things. So, here is the 1st day.

We made homemade paint 1c. flour, 1c. salt, 1 c. water and food coloring in these handy squeeze bottles from Michaels. It was a hit, but a little messy.

We went to Scheels for Family Home Evening and shot bows and arrows. They had an Archery 101 class for kids. Dallin didn't get to do it though, so, we'll have to go back later. Jayden shot a turkey and Elise shot a rabbit. It was pretty fun. Then we rode on the Ferris Wheel and had some yummy ice cream. Pretty easy family night.

Our Fun Family Camping Trip

We decided to venture out and finally go camping with the kids. It started out as a disaster. We left pretty late and were hungry. Our food got all burned, and our dutch oven cake was disgusting. Good thing we didn't go camping too far up in the mountains, because Justin had to make a trip to the store to get wood, ice, and food. But, after a pretty good night's sleep with no bears and a pretty comfy new air mattress. We had such a fun day the next day. We went on a two mile bike ride down a trial that goes along the Truckee river. The kids were such good bikers and had such a good time. Finally, we relaxed and dipped our feet in the river.

The kids really wanted to go rafting, but it would have cost us $140 to do this, so we decided that we are going to buy our own raft and go rafting soon.

Finally, we spent the afternoon at Lake Tahoe. Jayden had the most fun playing in the sand with his dump trucks. Elise and Dallin and even Justin got into the freezing cold lake and had such a great time. It turned out being a fun camping trip after all.

Summer Fun

We've been having sons of fun this Summer. The kids just finished 2 weeks of swimming lessons. They all did so good. Dallin had the most amazing swim teacher that made him swim from one side of the pool to the other over and over again. It was so great for them. Now we spend our days slip and sliding, and having fun while all of our neighbors want to come over every day. I'm trying not to have such a messy house, but it's sure hard during the Summer. I think we're finally getting our house clean now that we had our carpets shampooed it feels so much nicer.

4th of July Family Reunion

Our Utah 4th of July family reunion was so much fun. We did something every day. We got to see BRAVE a new movie. We went to the Stadium of Fire and saw the Beach Boys and Scotty Mcreery, and the most amazing fireworks. We went to a musical at the Scera Park, and the kids loved it. We went to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. Hayden had a super fun birthday party with a waterslide and so much yummy food. What fun we had. I can't wait to do this every year.
I decided to make all the girls matching 4th of July skirts and ribbons for their hair. They were all so cute. It was so hot at the Stadium of Fire, I felt bad for them suffering in their hot skirts, but they were such good sports. What a fun time getting together with our cousins. We love them all so much!!
