Smooching

During Dallin's party this week I caught Elise smooching her Daddy. She loves to give kisses. It is really cute. Whenever she gets mad at Dallin she likes to give him a little whack. We always say, "Elise we don't hit, we kiss". So she'll reach over and give Dallin a kiss. She is at a fun age. These are the best kisses in the world. She never fails to leave a little wet spot when she kisses you.

JOSEPH

Dallin had his joy school Christmas party this week. The kids in his group put on a little show. In this picture you will see Hannah Kunkel, Eden Faux, Ronny Guymon and Dallin. Dallin was Joseph, and Eden was Mary. Dallin has decided that he wants to marry Eden someday. He loved being Joseph.

1. I have a bad habit of losing keys. (I'm sure Justin could tell you more about this).

SANTA

Since it is Christmas, of course we get to see Santa. I bet you didn't know that Santa came to Coralville, Iowa. He came with Mrs. Claus on a wagon pulled by horses. Of course Dallin asked where his reindeer were. Anyway, it was fun to see santa.

Thanksgiving

Sorry that we haven't updated our blog for a while, but we had Grandpa Vance in town for Thanksgiving and kept ourselves quite busy. We spent Thanksgiving at Wisconsin Dells. We definitely got to see what real farm land looks like. We had a lot of fun. The best part of the whole trip is that our condo was right next to the only Kohls and Walmart in all of Wisconsin and Jocelyn was able to go to the after Thanksgiving sale at 6 am. Well, That wasn't the best part. We got to go to an indoor water park and amusement park where Dallin got to ride on his first roller coaster. It was a lot of fun. But, I guess we should say that the best part of Thanksgiving was the dinner. Dallin made a paper sack turkey in his primary class where we got to open it at Thanksgiving. He had written down all of the things that he was thankful for. Elise, she loved Thanksgiving because she loves food. As you can tell Wisconsin Dells was quite cold and we even got snow. It was fun to play in the snow for a while.

If you haven't noticed it is really hard to get a picture of Elise smiling. She loves to swing and I finally got a picture of her smile. She loves to smile but never for the camera.

Nice Sun Glasses

Dallin and Elise got these new glasses. They sure thought that they were fun to wear for a little while. Elise thinks it is so fun to wear them. She loves to do anything that her brother does.

HALLOWEEN

Elise was a bumble bee for Halloween. We told Elise to say "Trick or Treat", she mumbled something like "Titi", it really sounded like she was trying to say "Trick or Treat". She really loved knocking on doors with Dallin and then getting candy in her pumpkin. But after the first house she just wanted to eat her candy. Dallin was a firefighter, he really loves firefighters. He always says that he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. He got a lot of candy and had so much fun trick or treating.

Monday, Tuesday

On Monday we went to the library. Dallin was such a good helper. Jocelyn made these Superhelper badges that Dallin gets to wear when he has been a great helper. He likes wearing them. He also has other badges that he gets to wear for other things that he does, like being nice to his sister. On Tuesday, Dallin had joy school. He had lots of fun and learned that it is OK to express his feelings by talking. He really loves joy school.

Bath time

Justin has been extremely busy with school and church. So, I have been putting the kids to bed by myself most nights. This is a demanding task considering that I like to clean up their room a little before they go to bed. This is a picture of Dallin and Elise in the bathtub. notice in the background Elise's purple pajamas. I had gotten Elise already for bed and she was in her pajamas. I let Dallin play for a little longer in the bath. I turned around and let Elise wander while I tried to clean their room. I heard Elise let out a scream of joy. I ran to the bathroom and I found her sitting in the tub with Dallin with her pajamas on. So much for having one of them ready for bed. Elise didn't even seem bothered that she was in the bathtub with her pajamas on. She was just laughing and having so much fun.

This Week.

OK this week I really am going to write every day so that everyone can see what our family does for one whole week. I guess it'll be like a reality show in pictures. So, stay tuned.

Elise is really cute. She loves to be outside. It's too bad that we won't be able to go outside anymore because it is about to get sooo cold.

Dallin Golfing

Justin found Dallin some mini golf clubs. Justin was really excited. So, sometimes Dallin and his Dad practice golfing. This is Justin's dream to have a golfer. Dallin loves golfing. He is pretty good at his swing and can actually hit the ball.

Dallin's favorite shirt

This is Dallin's favorite shirt. He asks me if he can wear it every day. It has a cheetah on it, and he loves that. He loves to use this hammer to fix things. He pretends that there is a loose screw on his bike and then he hammers it on. The nice weather in Iowa is coming to an end so we spend as much time outside as we can. It is so sad that we will have to stay inside for the next 5 months.

Another Family picture

The Nauvoo Temple

This is a picture that Justin took of the Nauvoo temple this week-end. It is so beautiful. We love going there as often as we can.

Dallin and Ronny

This is Dallin and his friend Ronny. They have a lot of fun playing together. However, sometimes it is hard for them to agree. When it comes to running around and exploring they love to do this. They found a dead dragonfly in Nauvoo and they saved it by tossing it into the flowers. They were very proud of themselves.

While we were at the Nauvoo temple we switched off with our friends "The Guymons" . They watched our kids and we watched theirs. We had a chance to see what it would be like with four kids. Jocelyn thought it wasn't so bad, but Justin thought it would be crazy. We had fun though. We went with Ronny and Jace on a carriage ride with these horses around Nauvoo. The senior missionaries told us stories of our ancestors that lived in Nauvoo. They asked if we wanted to sing a hymn like our ancestors did. Dallin and Ronny both said that they wanted to sing "I am a Child of God". We all sang together and it was very special to hear Dallin and Ronny sing the song word for word at the top of their lungs. We felt the spirit and the senior missionary was so happy to hear children singing the hymns of zion. Nauvoo is a special place. We had a great time.

Nauvoo Temple

We had a chance to go to the Nauvoo temple this weekend and thought we'd take some family pictures. As you can tell Dallin and Elise weren't to thrilled about this idea.

Dallin's New Bike

Justin and Grandpa Vance decided that Dallin really needed a new bike before it got cold. So here is Dallin's new bike. He was really excited about his helmet and knee pads and elbow pads. He's really good at riding his bike, but the hills in Iowa are pretty hard for him.
