Elise's Room
I'm dying to decorate Elise's Room. I really love this idea for the wall. Hopefully I can do this. Elise wants a pink room, but I really want to do a pink comforter with the wall like this. I just need to figure out what color for the wall, because I don't want her room to be too dark. Hmm.... I just wanted to post this picture to see what everyone thinks about this idea.
Happy Birthday Little Jayden!!!
Jayden turned 3 years old today. Time passes by so quickly. I still remember moving here 3 years ago and being 8 1/2 months pregnant with Jayden. Now he is 3 years old. Jayden has been such a fun boy to raise. We feel so blessed to have him in our family. He is always so happy. He loves life and loves to play with his brother and sister. He loves riding his bike and he has such a silly personality. He is such a good natured little boy. We love our Jayden.
Jayden had his pancake breakfast. He has been looking forward to his birthday for the past few days. He loves blowing out his candles.
This is my attempt at a Thomas The Train cake. It was a little hard, and I put it together really quickly. Jayden loves Thomas The Train. He was us read him a Thomas The Train book every night. He was excited for his cake.
We decided to take Jayden on a train ride for his birthday. He had a great time riding the train, and so did we. Then we had friends come over for some cake and ice cream.

GO BYU!!
I know BYU didn't win their last game, but we are a true blue BYU family. The kids love BYU, every time we go to Utah, we go to the BYU creamery. Justin and I met there and had such a great college experience. BYU football just helps us celebrate our fun college years. So, we decided to do face painting during the last BYU game. The kids thought this was so fun, and loved getting their picture taken. They even requested that I post their pictures on facebook. Dallin told me the other day that he can't wait to go to BYU. We'll see what the future holds...

Enjoying Any Last Bit of Summer
After having a crazy Summer, I feel like I didn't get to enjoy this Summer as much as I would have liked to . I was pregnant and feeling sick all Summer, and then at the end of the Summer ended up losing the baby. I don't understand why things happen the way they do, but I know things always work out in the Lords time. And so, I want to enjoy any last bit of Summer that I missed out on. In the process I have taken up new hobbies like canning...
I have always wanted to try canning, but didn't think I could do this. This year we have been trying to really build up our food storage, and I decided that I wanted more fruit and vegetables in our food storage. I have had a great time canning peaches, pears, blueberry syrup, and salsa. I think I have really enjoyed this new hobby.
It is still warm enough outside to go slip and sliding. One of our favorite Summer activities.
Of course bubbles are one of the best parts of Summer. I found a great recipe to make your own bubbles with 1 cup water 4 Tbs. dishwash soap and 2 Tbs. corn syrup, and I added a little food coloring to give them some color. This was tons of fun.
I always love sewing. I haven't done it for quite some time, so I decided that I wanted to make this skirt for Elise. It was easy and I just love making things.
The best part of doing all these activities at the end of the Summer is that all of the Summer toys are on clearance for 75% off. What fun times.

Balloon Races
We woke the kids up at 4:30 a.m. to go to the Balloon Races. I have wanted to do this ever since we moved here, but never wanted to wake up this early. Finally, this year I decided that we don't have a reason to not go, so we did it! We got on the shuttle bus and headed over to see the balloons light up the dark sky. It was pretty fun, but I think our favorite part was when the balloons filled the sky later on in the morning. I don't think we'll be getting up at 4:30 a.m again, but at least we can see we have been there and done that. This is one of my favorite parts of living here. It is a great tradition to end our Summer with. What fun times!
