What Have The Vance's Been Up To This Summer
Let me tell you . We have been having a lot of fun this Summer. So much fun that we haven't been putting the kids in bed until almost 9:30p.m. every night this Summer. We have really enjoyed Utah and being with Nanny and Papa this Summer. I am going to post a long line of Photos that shows everything that the kids have been up to this Summer. As for our poor Justin, he hasn't been having so much fun. He has been studying hard. He is really nervous about the Bar Exam next week.
Jocelyn's Cake Decorating Class
So I decided that I wanted to do something fun this Summer. I have always wanted to learn how to decorate cakes so I signed myself up for a class at Michaels. It is lots of fun. My first cake was a disaster with crumbs everywhere. But I fixed it up and made a green Incredible Hulk cake for Dallin. He loved it. He loves green and The Incredible Hulk. So here is my first masterpiece.
The Hogle Zoo
Elise was a little scared of this singing elephant.
Dallin and Elise both loved the elephant tusks.
This elephant's name is Kristy and she is pregnant. We learned that elephants are pregnant for 22 months. That is almost two years!!! I would not want to be an elephant. That is a long time to be pregnant.
Dallin chose the Praying Mantis to Ride on at the Carousel
We got to see an owl up close. Pretty Cool!!
Dallin finally worked up the strength to pet the Boa Constrictor.
Dallin got to try his 1st ever giraffe root beer float. Pretty Yummy!!!
I decided to sign Dallin up for a class at the zoo. There was a camouflage class and so Dallin got to learn all about how animals blend in with their habitat. He learned about prey animals and predators. He really loves animals and I thought that the best place to learn about animals is at the Zoo. He had a great time. He even got to pet a Boa Constrictor. We learned a lot. I say "we", because I learned a lot of things that I did not know; like the fact that zebras are born with brown stripes. I think Dallin loved the fact that he got to pet a chinchilla. He loves chinchilla's from watching The kids show "DIEGO". It was really fun and I am glad that we got to do it. Dallin really loves learning so he had a great time. Elise and Nany came up the 2nd day of the class and had fun. Elise loved the elephants and monkeys. She had a great time thanks to Nany. They rode on the carousel and train. It was great!!!

Lemonade (Kool-aid) Stand
Elise had fun drinking the kool-aid. I think that was her favorite part.
Dallin has been asking to do a lemonade stand all Summer. So one day we decided to try this out. We had 4 buyers; Nany, Papa, Daddy and one neighbor. But it was fun to sit out on the sidewalk and sell kool-aid. Dallin loved this experience and would talk to anyone that we saw. But, we didn't see many people since we do live on a street where not to many cars drive by.
The Dinosaur Museum
We discovered the dinosaur museum and convinced Nanny to get a family pass for grandkids. It has been so much fun. Dallin loves to dig for fossils as does Elise. They really enjoy the erosion table. It has been a lot of fun. Dallin and Elise both cannot stand the space room where it is pitch black and only stars light the sky. But they love the loud roaring dinosaurs.

KANGAROO ZOO
We discovered this place in Pleasant Grove called the Kangaroo Zoo. Dallin and Elise loved it!! It was a little expensive though. They have a room full of blow up toys like slides and trampolines. They had so much dun and it was so cute to watch them jumping around. Here are some pictures.
Cupcake
Life would not be the same this Summer without Dallin's cat named Cupcake. He went to the pet store with Nanny to pick out this cat so he believes that she is his cat. Elise loves Cupcake so much. If she is crying all that you have to do is mention the name Cupcake and she is happy. She loves to chase Cupcake all over and pet her and even sit on her. The crazy thing is that Cupcake doesn't mind. Cupcake even left a dead bird in front of the door which is a sign that she likes her owners. I told Dallin that meant that Cupcake likes him.
