Happy Valentines Day!!

Here is our trail of Hersheys kisses leading to the kids Valentines. It was kind of fun for them to wake up in the morning in search of their Valentine.

This is our Love note box. We did this for the past week. The kids had fun coloring love notes and putting them in the box. Of course, they wanted to make lots of notes for Daddy. Elise made Dallin a Tinkerbell love note. Dallin was a good sport and said "Thanks". They are great kids.

My Hubby got me some roses for Valentines Day. I did tell him that I really thought roses would look pretty on our table, but he says that I just ruined the surprise. Anyway, I acted surprised and love my hubby anyway. He is the greatest.

The Little Boy is Growing Up

Jayden is such a cute boy. I really do love him. He loves to sing even though he doesn't say a word. He is always singing. It sounds to me like he is trying to sing "Twinkle Little Star", "Once ther Was a Snowman". Sometime I am going to post a video of him singing and dancing. It is the cutest and funniest thing in the whole world.

I love this boy

Dallin is such a fun kid. He is definately growing up. He already gets embarassed if I kiss him when I drop him off at school. But, I always ask him what was his favorite part of school and he always says "Coming home." He loves to make things, and knows more about legos or Wii than I do, and he is only in Kindergarten. I have to ask him to help me with lots of things, and he wants me to help him with his legos, but the truth is that he is a lot better at doing legos than I am. I really do love this little boy who is growing up so fast.

This is one of Dallin's inventions. He loves to use my hot glue gun. He found parts of our old fan that we took down and made this interesting contraption.

He made this Stegasaurus with his legos. I thought he did a great job. I really love seeing these things that he makes with legos. He really does amaze me.

I Love This Girl

Elise is such a funny girl. I really love her at this age. When I think of her growing up it makes me so sad. She is always playing with her babies. She will always tell us to be quiet because her babies are sleeping. She loves to say "Right". She will say "Mommy we don't do ... right". It is so extremely cute.

She also loves to line up chairs around our house to make trains. These papers on the chairs are her tickets. This is so fun and I really do love everyminute that I spend with this little girl.

Making Valentines Soap

I bought some stuff to make my own soap when I found it on clearance at Michael's. I thought it might be fun to do with the kids. Finally, we made some soap for Valentine's Day for the girls that I Visit teach and for Dallin's teacher. We still haven't given it to everyone though. It was fun to make our own soap, and for the kids to see how soap is made. I really like to do stuff like this with the kiddos.

Fingerpainting Fun

I think I am just going to post a few things taht we have done this month. Sometimes I run out of things to do with my kids. So, why not make the biggest mess possible and fingerpaint. It was actually a lot of fun, and I love watching the kids be creative. Even Jaden loved this, even though I didn't exactly want him to fingerpaint. Here is the recipe if interested in making your

own fingerpaint. I have also used shaving cream and laundry detergent mixed with paint.

Materials
flour
salt
water
Wilton's Cake Food Coloring
old squeeze bottles such as the bear bottles honey comes in or disinfected mustard squeeze bottles
Procedure
1. measure out equal parts of flour, salt and water
2. add the food coloring to the water
3. mix all three ingredients together
4. pour into squeeze bottles
5. have the children squeeze the mixture out onto heavy paper plates or cardboard. When the "puffy paint" dries, it is raised and sparkles!

Dallin's Surprise Party!!!

Dallin loves parties. He thinks about his birthday party all year long. It is always hard to plan a party on his birthday because it is only 5 days after Christmas, and everyone is still in the Christmas spirit. So, this year we told Dallin that his party was just going to be in Utah with family. We knew he really wanted a party with friends, but he was OK with just having a great time in Utah.

Thanks to all of Dallin's friends and their parents we were able to pull off a surprise party for Dallin. It was so fun to see Dallin so surprised. All of the kids had so much fun hiding and when Dallin walked in, everyone jumped out and said "SURPRISE!!!" It was so fun to see the look on Dallin's face. But, the great thing about this party was that Dallin's friends had just as much fun as him. So, thanks everyone for making this party a great one for Dallin. We did the limbo with the kids. They really liked this. We also did freeze, dance. We let them dance to the music and when we turned off the music they had to freeze. They really loved this game. It was so funny to see all of them dancing at the same time.

Of course we had a pinata. They did a good job breaking the pinata to pieces.

We played pin the tail on the dinosaur, and they had a great time doing this.

Thanks to our friend Joyce. We had this amazing dinosaur cake. She made this for Dallin and it worked out perfectly because his Mom didn't have to make him a cake. It was so beautiful and hard to eat, because we didn't want to ruin it.
