My Little Helper
It is hard for me to get anything done around the house nowadays. Jayden loves to help, but it isn't really helping, it's just making more messes for me to clean. But, I usually give in and let him help. This day I just wanted to make pancakes all by myself. Jayden insisted that he wanted to help. I gave in kind of frustrated. As I saw Jayden standing there working so intently on these pancakes I thought he looked so cute and I needed a picture of this. I know someday I will get to do things by myself and have a clean house, so I might as well enjoy this little time with these kiddos. 
Driving to Las Vegas
Driving in the Nevada desert there isn't much. There are about 2 little towns, and it is kind of eerie driving. There are a lot of army bases and I hear that there are many weapons hidden. Well, we decided to stop when the kids saw this giant tank. They wanted to try it out. This was one of our only stops driving through the desert. Thank goodness for this weapon that kept the kids entertained for a little while through our long drive. 
Family Reunion in St. George
We had the best time at our family reunion in St. George. The Johnson Family Forever Rendezvous as my Grandpa calls it is one of the highlights of my year. I just love all my aunts and uncles and cousins. We are all doing so many different things with our lives but when we get together it just feels like we belong together. We always have such a great time together. I already miss them and can't wait to see them again.

Dallin loves to fish. He had a great time with Grandpa.
Elise and Noah had a wonderful time making flower soup. They just played for hours. It was so cute to see them getting along so well.
Grandma brought these glow in the dark rings. The kids loved them. Elise of course decided to dance with them, because she is always dancing.
My little sister and Maylie. I just love Maylie. She has such a fun personality. Her and Jayden had a hard time fighting over Jayden's bike, but when there were no toys around, they had so much fun running around together. The moral of the story is never bring toys to a family reunion, because the kids just need eachother to play with.
Dallin and Elise wore their rings and had so much fun in my Aunt Sheryl's backyard.
My cousin Shelly and I tried to take a picture of eachother at the same time, but she still had her lens cap on, so I got her first.
My Grandma and Grandpa. The reason we get together each year is because of them. I just love them so much. They are such wonderful people. I learn so much from them.
My Dad and Aunt Sheryl. Don't they look like brother and sister. Everyone says that Jayden is the spitting image of my Dad as a little boy.
We went on a hike at Zion's. It was so beautiful. The kids were a little tired, but it was so fun to talk with Brad. He is such a great guy. The kids really love him.
As you can see Dallin and Joshua weren't too excited about hiking. I think they look so cute with sunglasses and Dallin's hat backwards. They are such good friends. I just love when Dallin gets to play with his cousin Joshua.
We're missing Jayden. But we survived the hike at Zions National Park. It was so beautiful. I loved it there.

Here are all the kids minus Emma. They are such good friends. I am so glad that they get along so well. They also love Kalea and Adrian and Hayden. Someday we'll get to be with them.
Of course, we can't forget to show a picture of Emma. She is such a smiley little baby girl. It was so fun to get to see her.

I am going to just post some ideas about 72 hour kits for myself and for others, since I have been thinking about this a lot lately. My Mom keeps on having these dreams about having our 72 hour kits ready and our water so I have been doing a little research. I think the first thing I think that would be good to have taped to the wall in our closet is this emergency evacuation list. I think I need to work on getting all of our important documents and pictures in the same plastic tote to grab and go. Here is the link:

Self-Reliance
This week has been a great week so far and it is only Monday. I am just so excited about the fun stuff that we did today. I really want to have a garden this year. It has always been a dream of mine to have a garden. I wanted the kids to play a part in this. I found these really great garden markers, and we started our seeds indoors to transplant to our garden outside in 4 weeks. Hopefully, it will be warm by then. The kids had a great time and I feel like we are on our way to becoming more self reliant.

Next, I have been trying to do a little more couponing to build up our 3 month food supply. I was so excited about this deal that I just wanted to take a picture. These are all of the pasta's that I have gotten for free with coupons this week. If I can figure out how to connect Justin's computer to our printer I can get 8 more boxes for free by tomorrow. This is so great and I am very excited about this.
So far we have planted watermelon, cucumbers and tomatoes. We have a lot more to do. The apple holders from Costco work really well for starting seeds indoors. I just hope I can get enough sunlight.

Elise had the most fun. She couldn't stop asking questions about when these seeds are going to grow. She just wants her watermelon right now.

Happy Mothers DAY!!
I love this book because it describes my life as a Mom. My kids love this book as well, and they ask me if I will come into their room while they're sleeping and rock them back and forth whispering "I love you forever, I like you for always as long as I'm living my baby you'll be." This picture on the front reminds me of my life right now, because this is exactly how I find my bathroom on many occasions. It is crazy the love that you feel for your kids even though there are days when I am feeling a little overwhelmed.
Giselle had such a good post about Mothers Day that I thought maybe I should do something special for Mothers Day. I feel like I haven't been the best Mom lately. I haven't gotten too many pictures of my kiddos, and I need to just reflect on the reasons why I love being a Mom. Some days I can't wait to be over, but other days, I love being a Mom. Here are some reasons why I love being a Mom. 
My Mom taught me all I know. She is a great Mom. Especially now that I am away from home I remember the long gone days and miss being around my Mom. My Mom always loved kids and taught me to love children. She has always taught me to enjoy the moment, and enjoy my kids and not worry about the little things. She is a great Mom and is always making me feel like I am doing a good job.
Jayden just makes me smile. I love being his Mom because he is just so funny. We had a talent show for Family Home Evening, and we asked Jayden to do a dance for us. He did the funniest dance we have ever seen. Jayden just loves being around his brother and sister. He mimmicks every thing that Elise says. He is definately into his terrible two's. I find many messes throughout the day that I don't enjoy cleaning, but I do love this little guy for the joy that he brings into our family. I still remember when he was a baby, his squeals of joy and how he would just kick his legs so fast because he couldn't wait to get up and run around with his brother and sister. What a fun little guy.
My little Dallin I just miss him being so little. He grew up so fast. I love being his Mom because of his love for learning. I remember hours and hours that we spent at the library looking at book after book. He just loved learning. He loves children's books, but one thing that he has loved since he was very little are non-fiction books about animals or anything that you can imagine. He comes home from school telling me about new facts that he learns each day. He has the most excited look on his face as he explains things to me. He tells me facts about George Washington Carver to Photosynthesis. After he learned about photosynthesis at school he begged me to take him to the library so that he could check out a book about photosynthesis. He had the librarian find him a book about photosynthesis and then he explained to me the whole process. He just has an amazing memory and I am scared that he is just going to leave me in the dust as he grows older and continues learning. What a smart little guy.
I love being Elise's Mom because she teaches me to enjoy the small things in life. She asks so many questions. The other day she asked me, When am I going to get invited to somebody's wedding? She is just fascinated by the idea af getting married. This scares me a little, but I love this about her anyway. She has an amazing imagination and just loves to play for hours and hours. I love this about her. Every now and then I think I have so much to do in one day, but then I get the feeling that I need to just play with Elise and all my kids and forget all of the other things that I think that I need to do. Elise will tell me what I need to work on, I love her honesty. She can sit coming her hair or my hair for hours and she loves to look at herself in the mirror and put on her Mommy's makeup. I can see her divine nature as a girl. She has such crazy emotions, I just love this little girl and her spunky personality.
