Pumpkin Patch

Some of our friends live on a farm and decided to start a local pumpkin patch.  They do this every October and the kid absolutely love it.  I love it as well.  They have animals for the kids to see, they have llamas, Emus, chickens, goats and cows, oh, and horses for the kids to ride on.  It is just so fun.  The kids wish that they could live on a farm and have all of those animals.  I'm sure anyone that has lived on a farm thinks that they are crazy for wanting that.  Anyway,  we went to the pumpkin patch at lease once a week and went on field trips with Jayden's preschool and Elise's 1st grade class.  I just love these times and I am so sad that I lost some of my pictures.

Halloween

This Halloween Sophie was two weeks old.   She was our little pumpkin.  The kids loved dressing her in this pumpkin outfit that someone gave us.  I just love hand me downs, because we get such fun and interesting things from others.  

 Dallin is the best big brother.  He sure loves to hold his baby sister.  Dallin decided to be a fisherman this year.

 Elise has a ballet book where the girl is a cat for a dance recital.  This has been Elise's favorite book since she was 2 years old.  We've read it maybe 100 times or more in her lifetime.  She was thrilled to be a cat this year for Halloween.  She especially loved painting her face.

Jayden our little indian.  Justin was an indian for Halloween when he was Jayden's age.  His Mom made him this costume.  Jayden was excited to dress up in his Daddy's costume.  What a great costume.  Too b ad the shoes were too small.

Introducing Sophie Isabel Vance

On Wednesday October 17th at 7:00 p.m.  my water broke.  I was planning on getting induced on Friday October 19th and so my parents would be here.  Now my plans were messed up and I had to quickly find someone to watch our kids as we went to the hospital.  Good thing we have such good friends so close.  The Tolman's let the kids sleep at their house.  So, we went to the hospital only to wait a few more hours to see if my water would break even more.   I had a blood clot and Group B strep so, there were a few complications.  Finally they gave me antibiotics and almost didn't give me an epidural since I had taken blood thinning medecine that day.  I was a little scared to do this without an epidural, But, the anesthesiologist decided that it would be OK to give me an epidural. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea, because the epidural didn't even work and it put me in more pain than when I was in labor because I think the anesthesiologist pinched a nerve.  But, once it was over, the pain was gone and we are just happy to have our little Sophie girl healthy and strong.  Sophie was born on Thursday October 18th at 5:58 a.m. We've waited a long time for her and she is such a good little baby girl.  So far she sleeps all of the time and doesn't cry much.  The kids love to hold her and we love to watch her when she is awake as she looks around.  

Jayden is 4 years old!!!

I can't believe that Jayden is 4 years old!!  Time flies so fast.  

Jayden has said that he wants to be either a garbage man or a firefighter when he grows up.  So, when I asked him what kind of birthday party he wanted.  He chose a firefighter party.  I had fun making him this fire truck cake and we got firehats for all of the kids that came to his party.  I got lots of pictures, but I don't know why they didn't download to my computer, So, I'll need to figure that out.  But, I'm just glad that Jayden had such a fun birthday, and that we have such a fun birthday boy.  

BALLOON RACES

 My last post before I go to bed.  So, I headed out without Justin to see the balloon races with the kiddos.  Justin got very sick, and so it was up to me to take all of the kids to see the balloons at 6:00 a.m.  It is so hard to go so early, but this only happens once a year and the kids really were looking forward to seeing the balloons.

So, we got on the city bus, because this is our chance to ride a bus and not have to worry about parking.  I think the kids were just as excited to ride the bus as they were to see the balloons.

Jayden was so excited to see the balloons.  But, the most exciting part was that Dallin and Jayden got to ride on a hot air balloon.  They have been begging to ride on a balloon, but, I had no idea where you get tickets.

Well, it was just our luck that when we asked someone standing in line for the Shark Balloon where to buy tickets, she said, "I have two extra tickets!!".  Elise said she didn't want to ride on a balloon, so Dallin and Jayden were so excited to ride on a hot air balloon.  It was fun to watch them. They did not like the hot air above their heads and they said that it was really loud.  I'm just glad that they got their wish.  What fun times.

TUBING FINALLY!!

 Finally, we went boating again on Pyramid Lake.  Everyone says that this lake is haunted and bad things happen, but I just wanted to go somewhere close.

So, we decided to go here and of course we were some of the only people on the lake.  It was a perfect day, and the kids were terrrified.  We said a little prayer and this helped them not be so scared.

I don't know how we did it, but they decided that it wouldn't be so bad to go on the tube after all. So, they did it!   Dallin even tried wakeboarding, and cried the whole time.  We keep on telling them to try new things that are safe and they might like them.  Well, they had fun, and I'm glad we could go out on the boat one last time before our Summer comes to an end.

Our Boating and Quading Fun

 Justin planned a fun little boating trip for us with our friends, The Waites.  Grandpa brought his boat and the kids had tons of fun.  Everyone refused to ride on the tube and this didn't make the Dads very happy.

But, Dallin learned how to drive a quad, and Elise and Jayden had tons of fun riding on the quads.

It was a pretty windy day, so I don't blame the kids for not wanting to ride on the tube.  Either way we still had tons of fun.
