The Crazy Things That We've Been Doing

I know I haven't posted in a long time, but I have been quite busy. Making leprachon traps, fingerpainting, getting Jayden started on solids and travelling. Sounds like quite an exciting life. It sure is!!! Actually, we've been busy trying to decide where we are going to live. Our landlord decided that she wanted to sell her house and gave us 1 month to find a new place. Kind of hard when we don't know if we want to rent or buy. But, we're hoping we will soon find a new home and we are verrrry happy to be moving out of our 2 bedroom house. Two bedrooms isn't quite enough with 3 kids.

Here are some pictures of our beautiful Leprachon trap. I read in the FamilyFun Magazine that Leprachons don't like to follow rules. So, we made a sign that says "No Leprachons allowed". Then we built him a nifty little rock climbing wall and a ladder to climb up to the rainbow where we have a green pot of gold. Pretty Cool!!

MY VALENTINE'S

I just wanted to post a few pictures of my Valentine's. I didn't take one of my hubby but he is also at the top of my list. We had a great Valentine's Day. Dallin and Elise got a giant lollipop which I hid because they have had plenty of sugar and they don't seem to mind that there lollipops have suddenly disappeared.

FREAKY FRIDAY

It all started out as a normal day. However, a week and a half ago our pet hermit crab named "Hermie" escaped from his cage. (Justin wants me to mention that we did not close his cage all the way because we were in a hurry to get to our doctor's appointment.)

We thought our hermit crab was dead and had almost forgotten about him.

But this morning crawling across our
kitchen floor was a little white shell.

It was our pet Hermie!! I did not dare touch the crab because I thought it might be hungry, so Dallin had to be the brave one and put him in his cage.

The moral of this story is that you should never underestimate the power of a hermit crab.

This was truly a Friday to remember.

Dallin's KUNG FU PANDA BIRTHDAY

I am glad to say that I have just survived probably the craziest week of my life. All 3 kids were sick with fever and bad coughs. Dallin had a birthday party on Saturday, and I had to give a talk in church on Sunday. Birthday parties are not easy, especially when your son insists that he wants a 5 layer cake. But, I am happy to say that his party turned out great.Of course we had to open the presents. The kids were all so excited for Dallin to open their present. It is so funny how kids are.
A couple of Bounce houses always makes a party fun.
The kids defeated Tai Lung(Justin) and got him down on the ground with their great Fung Fu chops. Tai Lung wasn't too happy, but the kids got their dragon scrolls.
The kids ate some Ramen Noodles with chopsticks, They loved this.

Dallin's famous 4 layer cake. He wanted 5 layers, but I said 4 would have to be enough. I think it might have tipped over.
Our Pinata. A party is not a party without a pinata. We could not find a Kung Fu panda pinata, so we got a champagne bottle that said Happy New Year and took the sign off and added some Kung Fu Panda pictures. It was just going to be broken, and the pinata was only $2.00 at Wal-Mart.

Jayden Austin Vance

This past Sunday we blessed Jayden. So crazy to think that this is the 3rd time that we have blessed our babies. Jayden is such a fun smiley little boy. He really likes to grab things and is really strong. He can pull on the toys of his bouncey chair and pull himself all the way into a sitting position. He is growing up so fast. We sure love him a lot. This is the blessing blanket that our Great Grandma Walker made for Dallin and now was used by Jayden. It is a great heirloom.

Justin thought that Jayden looks like the Catholic Pope with this hat on, but I think he looks cute.

Dallin Vance is Now 5 Years Old

It is so hard to believe that it has been 5 years since we had our first little baby boy. My how time flies!!! Every time I look at Jayden I remember those days when I held Dallin for the first time. It is so sad that he is growing up so quickly. However, these past 5 years have been some of the greatest years of our lives. It has been so fun raising this little boy. We really do love him a lot. Dallin is such a good little boy. He is very caring and loves to talk. It is so fun to talk to him about anything. It is scary to think that he is now 5 years old and will be starting Kindergarten soon. We can't wait for the years to come.
Dallin really wanted a Kung Fu Panda Birthday Party. However, his birthday being the 30th of December is a little tricky for parties. He will have his party in a few weeks, but for now we had a Kung Fu Panda cake and we invited a few friends to Chuck E Cheese's. Chuck E Cheese's is always a great place to go. It was great fun!!
The famous Tinkertoys were a big hit for Dallin's birthday.
Dallin was really excited to get Tinkertoys for his birthday. He always talks about how him and his friends make guns out of Tinkertoys at preschool.

CHRISTMAS 2008

This was the first year that we have had Christmas all by ourselves. Justin has been dying to have Christmas morning at home. It was fun, but we did miss having our family for Christmas Dinner. We had a great dinner, but I had to make it all alone. The one thing that turned out great was our Pecan Pie. Justin loves Pecan Pie. Of course, it is the most fattening pie that you can make, but once a year it should be OK. This is what Jayden did while I cooked. He loves to hang out in his bouncy chair. He is pretty good at hanging out. I run out of arms and so it seems that he has to spend a lot of time in his chair.

Dallin loved the Ham. He is so much like his Daddy. He loves Meat. Dallin always says that if he were a dinosaur that he would be a carnivore.
Elise and her olives. Olives on the fingers are a big hit at our house for Christmas Dinner as well as Thanksgiving Dinner.

I know that I am a little behind, but I am going to set a New Year's Resolution to keep up on my posts. This Week is crazy because it is Christmas, then Dallin's Birthday and then New Year's. But, I think it is over and now I can go on with a New Year.
